Camera Controls
The camera orbits around the hexasphere, letting you view it from any angle. Four controls let you navigate:
Orbit
Rotate the camera around the hexasphere by dragging:
- Click and drag outside the hexasphere — orbits freely without any modifier key. This is the easiest way to look around.
- Option+drag (Alt+drag) anywhere — orbits even when your cursor is over the hexasphere. Useful when you want to orbit without accidentally selecting tiles.
Drag in any direction to change both the azimuth (horizontal angle) and elevation (vertical angle).
Zoom
Change the camera distance to get closer or farther from the hexasphere:
- Scroll up (or pinch outward on a trackpad) — zoom in for a closer look
- Scroll down (or pinch inward) — zoom out for a wider view
Home
Click the Home icon in the camera toolbar to instantly reset the camera to its default position — centered, at a comfortable distance, with a standard viewing angle. Useful when you've orbited to an unfamiliar position and want to reorient.
Rotate 180
Click the Rotate button in the camera toolbar to flip the camera to the opposite side of the hexasphere. This is a quick way to see the back of the sphere without manually orbiting halfway around. Click again to return to the front.
